"What do you do when the one thing you live for leaves you?"

2009-12-27

Xavier Samuel - "If you want to know what happens in the movie, just read the book."

"Due to be released next June, the film, which also stars Twilight leads Kristen Stewart and heart-throb Robert Pattinson, is set to make Samuel, 25, a major Hollywood star.

This week he was enjoying some downtime in his home town, where he caught up with mates at Rundle St spots The Exeter and Sugar nightclub, before spending Christmas relaxing with his mum Maree and dad Clifford, brother Benedict, 21, and sister Bridget, 28.

"It's a bizarre thing, the whole celebrity phenomenon," Samuel told the Sunday Mail.

"But to see it in action is another thing. It's a little strange having someone follow you to get a coffee.

"I wasn't used to that sort of attention, so I just took it in my stride, I guess.

"I think Robert and Kristen do a really good job in dealing with fans.

"They seem to handle it really well, so if I can take a leaf out of their book I should be OK."

Life in the US has also given Samuel a chance to catch up with fellow Adelaide actor Teresa Palmer, a former castmate from the local indy film 2:37.

"Teresa and I actually spent Halloween in LA together," he said.

"It was my first Halloween and I went as a Canadian because I just came back from Vancouver. It just involved me putting on a cap, I didn't really put a lot of effort in. It was either that or go as a Playboy bunny.""

Julia Jones Talks About Filming Eclipse

"Twilight actress Julia Jones can’t wait for Eclipse to come out, and neither can fans of the Twilight movies. In part two of our exclusive interview at The Grove in Los Angeles with Julia as she shopped for her cast members, she talked about her favorite scene in New Moon and what we’ll learn about her character in the third installment of the Twilight Saga.

As the only female member of the Wolf Pack, she distinguishes herself not with a pink bow on her wolf, but tells us her wolf “is smaller than the other boys and it’s light gray.” She said that the boy wolves are “huge!”

Just like the guy wolves and the vampires, Julia had some tough physical scenes while filming Eclipse. As she filmed her scenes of becoming a werewolf she described jumping up and landing on a mattress for the action. “I realized after 18 takes that I was landing on the ground and I had dirt on my chin. I couldn’t lift my arms for four days!”

Julia, who is currently starring in the Los Angeles play Palestine, New Mexico, told RadarOnline.com's Alexis Tereszcuk about what the cast ate at craft services and what they did during their down time while filming Eclipse. “We ate a lot of chocolate, anything round that was throwable.” Julia said that Taylor Lautner has the best aim out of the bunch and “it got very competitive, how many grapes or chocolates could you get in someone’s mouth.”

Julia also described that she thinks the theme of Eclipse is immortality. “New Moon is about heartbreak. Eclipse is about immortality.”"

Julia Jones Shops for the Holidays!

"The holiday season is upon us, and we bet you're hoping Santa brings you Rob Pattinson for Christmas, right? RadarOnline.com spent the day at The Grove in Los Angeles with Julia Jones, the lovely actress who just finished filming the third installment in the Twilight Saga: Eclipse, where she picked up presents for a few cast members and talked about her role in the record-breaking series.

Julia picked out sunglasses for heart-throb RPattz, who is "really cool to work with," and for her co-star Kiowa Gordon because "he showed up in Vancouver with the same shades as me," Julia said.

As the only female member of the wolf pack, Julia told us she doesn't get any special treatment, "but I do get to wear a shirt," she revealed.

Julia is currently starring in the Los Angeles play Palestine, New Mexico, and told RadarOnline.com's Alexis Tereszcuk about the intense relationships formed while filming Eclipse. "We are all really close, it was really familial," Julia said about her group of boys, and wanted to set the record straight about her annoyance with the boys on set. "I think they boys thought I was angry at them for throwing things at me, but I love them!"

Watch Julia Jones shop for the holidays, talk about who is the biggest prankster on set, and find out what it's like to work with abs-olutely perfect Taylor Lautner!"

Kellan Lutz to be on Nick tonight!

It's Twilighters-on-TV-time tonight! ;D ... RTL (Germany) was just showing an X-Men movie with our lovely Mister Cuddlemore - and only a few hours from now, you folks in the States will be able to see hottie Kellan Lutz and his dog Kola on Nickelodeon!

"Nick News With Linda Ellerbee: Kids to the Rescue! Helping Homeless Animals will premiere Sunday, Dec. 27. The special features kids across the country who are working to save abandoned animals, as well as pet adoption stories from Lance Bass, Sophia Bush, Tony Hawk, Bonnie Hunt, Kimora Lee Simmons, Kellan Lutz, Maria Menounos and Tiffani Thiessen.

[...]Hundreds of thousands of cats and dogs have been abandoned or left at shelters due to economic problems brought on by the recession. For instance, people who lose their homes often are forced to give up their pets - at a time when millions of homeless animals were already out there, breeding millions more, and according to the U.S. Humane Society, nearly half of the cats and dogs that enter U.S. shelters will be euthanized, not because they are "damaged goods" but simply because the shelters are overcrowded. Nick News with Linda Ellerbee shares stories of kids and celebrities who are doing something about the situation in Kids to the Rescue! Helping Homeless Animals, premiering Sunday, Dec. 27, at 8:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon.

New Moon at $281M domestic, $662M worldwide

"The Twilight Saga: New Moon finished 11th in its sixth weekend, taking in an estimated $3M from 1,593 locations with a per theater average of $1,883. These estimates include $660K Friday, $1.22M Saturday, and $1.12M Sunday. This increases the film's domestic cumulative total to $280.92M through its first 38 days of release and represents a 31.9% drop from last weekend. The worldwide cumulative total is now $662,430,961.

[...]Despite Avatar's second weekend achievement, Sherlock Holmes still had the second best non-number one opening weekend ever, just $3.6M behind The Day After Tomorrow. It was the biggest Christmas day opening ever. Avatar is now 10th fastest to $200M -- New Moon was fourth. Finally, Avatar has the #11 best 9-day opening ever. New Moon was fifth. New Moon moves up from #41 to #40 on the all-time domestic chart, #162 to #160 on the all-time domestic adjusted chart, and #24 to #23 on the all time PG-13 chart.

These numbers are not "actuals," meaning they are only official estimates based on early reports. For those who are new to the box office numbers game, it may seem odd to have these figures when Sunday isn't even over yet. But it is standard procedure to have weekend totals announced at this time. After the Saturday box office totals come in on Sunday morning, studios always estimate Sunday and come up with a weekend projection. Of course, Sunday and weekend figures can only be estimates at this point. The actual Sunday numbers aren't known until Monday. But many years and literally thousands of projections have yielded formulas that allow the industry to predict fairly closely what Sunday will be based on Friday and Saturday's numbers and, therefore, what the weekend will look like. The actual numbers that come in on Monday are usually not too far off from the estimates made on Sunday. They usually adjust slightly up or down but are rarely far off."

Kristen Stewart: The Belle of 2009

It’s safe to say, 2009 was certainly a stellar year for actress Kristen Stewart.

The beautiful brunette began her acting career at the age of eight and has since been featured in over 30 films, one of those being “Twilight” which launched her into international stardom.

The “Twilight Saga” consists of three films (so far) based on Stephanie Meyer’s bestselling vampire romance including “Twilight,” “New Moon” and “Eclipse” - in which Stewart shines as lead role, Bella Swan.

It was on the set of these films that the 19-year-old actress was introduced to Robert Pattinson, who plays the role of Edward Cullen in the popular saga.

The two, who share an intense on-screen romance, have since caught the attention of millions of fans all over the world, and have sparked hopeful rumors that they share an off-screen romance as well.

Choosing to stay very private about the matter, their relationship has not been confirmed publicly, but from the looks of it, Stewart and Pattinson are one of the hottest couples in Hollywood.

‘Twilight’ star returns to St. Francis Prep

Students at St. Francis Preparatory School got a glimpse of Hollywood up close and personal as Prep alumnus and current “Twilight” star Peter Facinelli came back to the Fresh Meadows school and spoke to students.

Facinelli, who plays Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the “Twilight” movies, addressed two student assemblies – one filled with seniors and a second of performing arts students – on Wednesday, December 16 about his career and TV and movie business overall.

The students, one of whom held up a “Peter, marry me” sign during the assembly, snapped photos of the star and asked him questions about his career and the acting business in general.
